Local Ordinances: Your Midyear Update and Other Interesting Facts

Localities throughout California adopting their own ordinances that affect employment is a clear trend — and it doesn’t appear to be stopping any time soon.

While it’s true that minimum wage ordinances do make up the core of these local ordinances, certain jurisdictions also have crafted ordinances for areas such as paid sick leave and criminal background checks. Take San Francisco, which has local ordinances affecting employees’ paid parental leave, drug testing regulations and lactation accommodation, to name a few.
