Some employers choose to pay employees different wage rates for different jobs performed during a pay period. For example, a retail employee may work in customer service on weekdays, then as a shift supervisor at a higher pay rate on weekends. Or employers could offer one wage rate for regular job duties and a lower rate for travel time
