Falling leaves, sweater weather, pumpkin cream cold brews, football games, hot chocolates — although these things aren’t quite here, they’re coming (hopefully) soon. This end-of-summer lull may give HR professionals a false sense of peace, like they have plenty of time to handle all the end-of-the-year tasks. But take a look at that calendar — there are only four months left until the New Year!
With a little bit of preparation, HR pros can ensure a smooth transition into the fall and winter seasons, where they’ve already reminded managers/supervisors of protected school leaves of absences, prepared for open enrollment and holiday paid time off (PTO) requests, made sure all required harassment prevention training is complete, and reviewed their employee handbook for any new updates. Before you know it, the holidays and new employment laws will be upon us!
