As Cybercrime Amps Up, HR Must Remain Vigilant

Whether cyberattacks are politically or financially motivated doesn’t change the fact that they wreak havoc on their targets; in 2021, for instance, the average cost of a data breach in the U.S. was $9.05 million — the highest cost globally. But these breaches typically are connected with customer data; every customer whose record was breached cost companies $161. If that company is, say, a large tech firm, the cost adds up quickly.
