DOL's Stance on Travel Time While Teleworking (and More)

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has been busy lately. In the last few weeks of the Trump administration, the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division published several opinion letters addressing a wide variety of issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). When the Biden administration took over, it started making changes, among which were withdrawing three of the new letters and putting pending DOL regulations on hold.

This article highlights some of the recent DOL opinions that remain published, as well as some issues for employers to continue monitoring at the federal level.
