This year’s legislative session has officially come to an end and, as usual, there are stacks of new laws taking effect in January.

While the COVID-19 pandemic was still challenging for the California Legislature this year, it didn’t stop legislators from sending several hundred bills to Governor Gavin Newsom, many of which impact California employers.

Here’s a quick look at some new laws signed by the governor of which employers should be aware. Unless otherwise stated, they’re effective starting January 1, 2022.
