Summer Heat Wave, Wildfires Deal Additional Blow to California

It’s 2020, so let’s just add to the list. First, a deadly global pandemic wrecks the nation’s economy, sending everyone into quarantine and turning our lives upside-down. Then came the most serious social strife since the 1960s, threatening the security of our cities and igniting widespread political discord. Now, intense heat is causing rolling blackouts in certain areas, and wildfires are suffocating much of California with smoke and threatening peoples' homes — and managing remote work is even more of a challenge for employers who already were just trying to get by.
