Santa Rosa’s COVID-19 emergency paid sick leave ordinance first took effect on July 7, 2020, and expired on December 31, 2020, along with the mandated sick leave provisions of the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). However, on February 2, 2021, the Santa Rosa City Council adopted a revised urgency ordinance extending employers’ obligations to provide COVID-19 related sick leave through September 30, 2021.
