COVID-19: Sonoma County Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Ordinance

Sonoma County’s COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave ordinance, which first took effect on August 18, 2020, was revised on January 26, 2021, to change the December 31, 2020, expiration date (which aligned with the Federal Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) expiration) to June 30, 2021. However, on February 9, 2021, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors adopted a new urgency ordinance superseding the previously adopted ordinance that applies to all employers in unincorporated Sonoma County, regardless of size. The ordinance took immediate effect upon adoption and included a June 30, 2021, expiration date.
