Are you unsure when you can or can’t drug test an applicant or employee? Wondering if you can classify a worker as exempt to avoid overtime and meal break requirements? Want to make sure that the questions your managers are asking during interviews aren’t discriminatory? Unsure of what to do if an employee asks for an accommodation? CalChamber’s HR Boot Camp, on Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., has the answers you’re looking for.

Our employment law experts will explain important aspects of California employment law. Over two half-day seminars, HR professionals will get you up to speed on California’s ever evolving compliance requirements.

This live, virtual seminar will cover a wide range of essential HR topics, including:

  • Hiring and onboarding best practices.
  • Wage and hour compliance fundamentals.
  • Time off and protected leaves of absence.
  • Administration of paid sick leave, vacation and paid time off policies.
  • Wage replacement benefits during employee leaves.
  • Pregnancy disability leave (PDL) requirements.
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and California Family Rights Act (CFRA) leaves.
  • Preventing harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace.
  • Discipline and termination best practices.

Attendees will engage directly with our experts, who will answer questions submitted via Zoom. The training is designed to be practical, interactive and immediately applicable to your workplace.

This seminar is ideal for HR professionals, legal and employment law counsel, office managers, business owners, and anyone responsible for hiring, managing or supervising employees in California.

Registration also includes downloadable slides and supplemental materials, including California-specific templates, checklists and forms. This seminar is approved for 6.5 HRCI, MCLE and PDC credits.
