Hazard Communication Program (HAZCOM)

The Hazard Communication Program (HAZCOM) standard requires all employers to communicate workplace hazards to employees, particularly when employees handle or may be exposed to hazardous chemicals or substances during normal work or foreseeable emergencies.1

Every organization must comply with HAZCOM, with a few limited exemptions and exclusions, such as EPA-regulated hazardous wastes being excluded. See the Guide to the California Hazard Communication Regulation.
