When you first learn of a complaint, or during the investigation, determine if you must take any interim actions to protect the health and safety of other employees, the integrity of the investigation or otherwise maintain the integrity of the company's policies or guidelines.

Some situations may warrant placing the respondent on a leave of absence while an investigation is in process. If there is a risk that the respondent may engage in conduct that is harmful to the company during the investigation, you may place the individual on leave pending the investigation's completion.
