When do I have to give my employees information about COBRA?

HRCalifornia

Notification of Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) rights is required both at the time an employee becomes covered by a plan subject to COBRA and at the time of a qualifying event.

Employers and employees have certain notification obligations when qualifying events occur. Failure to notify qualified beneficiaries of their COBRA rights can subject the employer to penalties.
