What is included in an emergency action plan?

HRCalifornia

All employers are required to have an Emergency Action Plan that presents the designated actions employers and employees must take to ensure employee safety from fire and other emergencies. All Emergency Action Plans shall be in writing, except employers with fewer than 10 employees may communicate the plan orally to their employees and need not maintain a written plan.

Title 8 General Industry Safety Orders (GISO) Section 3220 presents the minimum elements that must be addressed in the plan. Among others, subsection (c) requires the employer to establish an employee alarm system "which complies with Article 165."
