Several localities also have their own labor laws, such as those covering minimum wage. These are enforced by local enforcement agencies.

The state Labor Commissioner can also investigate claims of local minimum wage ordinance violations. If the Labor Commissioner issues a citation, a local government entity cannot cite the employer for the same violation.1
