Even during the current economic uncertainty, the U.S. economy added 115,000 jobs in April 2026, not counting agricultural jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest report. However, hiring employees is costly for employers — both directly and indirectly. From job board fees and background checks to dedicated staff time reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and training new hires, the average cost to hire a new employee can range from $500 to $15,000 depending on the industry and the position.
