Practical Considerations For the Employer

Employers should consider proactive measures to maintain positive employee relations to minimize the risk of a union organizing petition being filed and to increase their ability to effectively respond to union petitions if filed. From October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024, union election petitions doubled the number of petitions received in the two years prior combined. Likewise, unfair labor practice charge filings have increased by 7 percent in fiscal year 2024 when compared to fiscal year 2023.
