Effective February 19, 2023, the city and county of San Francisco (San Francisco) enacted a Military Leave Pay Protection Act (MLPPA) that requires private employers in San Francisco to pay a partial salary (Supplemental Compensation) for up to 30 days to employees who serve as military reservists and are called for military duty.1
