Title VII and FEHA both prohibit race discrimination in all aspects of employment relationships.

Race discrimination involves treating an applicant or employee unfavorably because he or she is of a certain race or because of personal characteristics that might be associated with a particular race (such as hair texture). Discrimination on the basis of color is also prohibited by state and federal law and involves treating someone unfavorably because of skin color/complexion.
