Defamation Protection - Harassment Complaints

    Effective January 1, 2019, California employers and victims of sexual harassment are better protected from liability for defamation by an alleged harasser after a complaint of sexual harassment has been made.1 This new law applies to employers who are asked to provide job references for a current or former employee.
