Employer Notice Obligations

You must provide your employees with written notice about their workers’ compensation rights. You must present the following posters and notices to your employees:

  • You must post an informational poster in a conspicuous location frequented by employees.
  • You must give a workers’ compensation Rights and Benefits pamphlet to each employee when that individual is hired.
  • When an employee is injured as the result of a crime, you must give them a notice for crime victims.

To order updated posters, forms and pamphlets for 2024, visit the CalChamber store.

Many of the notice requirements listed below require the employer to physically post the notice at the place of employment or work site. Employers may, in addition to physical posting, email the required posting to its employees.1 This does not obviate the requirement to physically post a notice when so required.
