Appellate Court Rules Employee’s Retrieving, Freezing Eggs Not Protected Under FEHA

While the California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and pregnancy disability leave (PDL) protect pregnant workers and pregnancy-related medical conditions, a recent fact-specific court decision found egg retrieval and freezing procedures did not qualify as a pregnancy-related medical condition or disability and were, therefore, not protected by the FEHA.
